It all started with an app...
In the summer of 2014 Mark had just graduated from University and Lydia was entering her final year at Mountview Performing Arts Academy. Being home in the West Midlands for the summer and finding themselves recently single, both took to Tinder and following a lucky swipe found themselves on their first date. Mark turned up in his Mom's car and Lydia picked a humble Black Country Pub not far from home.
After a summer romance Mark joined the Royal Navy but stayed in touch whilst at Officer training in Dartmouth. The pair would meet up in London and eventually introduced each other to their friends and family. It wasn't until then that they realised Mark's bestman Richard had been to school with Lydia and shared many friends from Sixth Form.
A few years later Lydia would join the cruiseship MS Zandaam on a world tour whilst Mark was deployed to the Middle East for six months. Following this significant time apart Mark proposed to Lydia whilst on holiday in Rome in 2017 after they were reunited.
They bought their first home in Bridgnorth in 2020 and share it with their cat, Luna. Although a fourth member of their growing family is hopefully on the cards!
